Who doesn't love sushi??
At Shiroi Sushi, there is a dinner special that everyone should try. Shiroi Sushi is a place that is known for great taste and are made with fresh ingredients. The sashimi platter and side dishes are only $35. Yes, only $35.

There is also a Special Feature on Claridge Healthcare Center. Claridge opened in July 2005 and here are over 100 employers and they are devoted to helping the Senior citizens, which is great. They have a lot of fun activities planned for these senior citizens.

The American Professional Profile is on Lawyers. And these people are very devoted to helping Korean Americans. Robert B. Williams has been a licensed attorney in Illinois sice 1967. He has represented many Koreans for over 30 years. Dan O'Connor is the Managing Partner at O'Connor and Nakos, which is one of ther largest personal injury law firms in Illinois. He has been a trial lawyer for 17 years. He states that the Korean community has been a large part of his life in the neighborhood near Bryn Mawr and Kedzie and even his father, Patrick O'Connor Sr., has built many friendships with the Korean community. Gary Topper received his Doctorate of Law from DePaul University and represents clients who are injured in accidents. He provides fast, diligent, and efficient to his clients and maximum results. He believes most Korean people are intelligent, hardworking, and hornorable people and they deserve equal justice without discrimination. Thomas Stahulak works at a law firm that concentrates in consumer bankruptcy, divorce, foreclosure, loan modification, and personal injury. Their vision is "to broaden their services into diverse cultural segments such that their affordable, yet personalized professional legal services are available to benefit many people as possible, from all walks of life". And finally, Jack F. Heilingoetter concentrates on protecting Protesting property tax assessment of commercial and industrial properties in Cook County. He has over 30 years of experience and though his office is small, but it is efficient.

In the Cooking Section, there are different salads that consist of the freshest ingredients. And these salads are perfect for spring. How about a salad with Romaine lettuce, blueberries, watermelon radish, with a dressing made with soy sauce? And there are many delicious recipes as well.

And for all you sports fans, there is something for you. In the Mahgazine, there is a Sports schedule for the month of April. These games are involve the different Chicago sports teams, such as the Sox, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks' games. Hold onto the schedule and keep up with these games.

And for the beauty queens, you could keep up with the lastest. For Spring 2010, there was a Chanel Makeup Party for Women. How exciting, right? Kim Sun Young hosted this event for Korean Women. Three Chanel makeup artists explained and taught how to apply makeup to 70 women in the ages from 20-60. 10 women were selected for a full makeover.

March 2010 Issue

In the March issue of Wind Magazine, the Special Feature Story was on MB Financial Bank for its 30th Anniversary. The cover has some significant people, such as the Senior Vice President, Vice President, and other important people.

Wind Magazine also did a special section called Promising Artists, which are stories about exquisite people and their interest in the arts genre, which includes: music, painting, photographing, etc. These people are an inspiration to many people as these artists are continuing their journey with what they are passionate about. Hyun Shil Moon is a Fusion Musician, who graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, instead of going to Los Angeles or New York to pursue the music industry, came to Chicago and continues following her passion. Ye-Eun Hwang is an artist, in which she draws using Korean paper and a brush. She received an opportunity to study art at the School of Art Institute of Chicago, and she seized it and continues to do what she loves. Kenny Kim immigrated to the United States at age 10 with his family and he studied graphic design at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and he is currently a photographer. Not just any photographer, but a lifestyle wedding photographer, where he could capture people's lives at their happiest moment. Finally, there is Seung Han Sung, who studied cello in Korea, was even part of the (Korean Broadcasting System), or KBS, Symphonic Orchestra, and is currently a performer for the Chicago Civic Orchestra. He is also a commercial director and an independent movie producer/director. He also produced commercials, such as the LG CYON and Samsung. It shows that if they put their mind to it, they can do it. Just look at how these artists ended up here. They followed their dreams and pursued it. Readers can always learn things from articles, such as this, in Wind Magazine.

Another section that was brought to my attention were the professional profiles. Wind is always looking to introduce various Korean professionals and helps them to stand out in the Korean Community-where others can continue encouraging one another and to show them that they're appreciated for their hard work. In this month’s issue, Women who are CPA's (Certified Public Accountant), were featured.

Food for thought...

And, who doesn't love food?? The cooking section was featured on Tomatoes. Tomatoes are not only a vegetable, but are also considered a fruit. Why?? Because it contains seeds. Tomatoes are good for you and are in found in ketchup, tomato sauce (used in pasta/pizza sauces), and are even put on salads. Tomatoes contain an antioxidant called lycopene, which is proven to prevent cancer. It also contains Vitamins A, B, and C and has many minerals. In this section, Chef Suzanne Yoon suggests that Tomatoes just don't have to be used in sauces, but it can be used other ways, and in doing so, she presents fresh and innovative recipes that involve tomatoes. Tomatoes are used to make stew, kimchi, and deon-jang, which are all interesting.
